Frequently Asked Questions

  • Because your session time is reserved especially for you, cancellations made within 48 hours of your appointment are subject to the full session fee. As a courtesy, you will receive an email reminder 72 hours in advance and a text reminder 24 hours before your scheduled time.

  • Yes! We’ll meet for telehealth through the secure SimplePractice portal. About 10 minutes before each session, you’ll receive a unique, one-time link by both email and text message that takes you straight into our Zoom room.

  • I am an out-of-network provider, which means I do not bill insurance directly. However, I can provide you with a detailed statement (a “superbill”) that can be submitted to your insurance company for possible reimbursement, depending on your plan’s out-of-network benefits.

  • Initially, email is the best way to connect, as we’ll likely be exchanging forms and information. Once therapy is underway, texting can be helpful for brief, practical matters such as scheduling changes.

  • The best way to know is to begin with an initial free consultation. Feeling comfortable, safe, and understood is essential, so I encourage you to trust your instincts. If at any point it feels like a different approach or therapist might be a better fit, I’m always happy to support you with thoughtful referrals.

  • Yes. As a licensed therapist in Washington State, I am a mandatory reporter. This means that if I become concerned that you are at risk of harming yourself or someone else, I am ethically and legally required to take steps to ensure safety, which may include breaking confidentiality. My intention is always to protect and support you, guided by the core principle of our profession: to do no harm.

  • In our first session, we’ll focus on getting to know each other. You’re welcome to ask any questions you have, and I’ll be curious about what’s been happening in your life recently, where you’re noticing stress or discomfort, and what you need from the therapeutic space.
